Steve Mills got to the final of the Southern Masters Veterans Table Tennis Championships over the weekend
Proving that 60 is the new 40 and that even after a hip replacement it is possible to compete at the top level.
Steve beat several highly ranked England Players and battled his way through several very close encounters. In the final of the 60+ age group he came across Phil Smith of Surrey who he had already beaten in the 50+ event, but sadly on this occasion after 10+ hours of play, there was little left in the tank and Steve lost 11-9, 11-8, 10-12 and 11-9 (3-1 in a best of five games).
Steve said, “It was a hard day and right now I am aching all over, but I will be back practising on Monday”. He added “This is how businesses need to approach marketing. You can’t win every time, but when you don’t win, you just need to try again and again”.
