Let me ask you a question – Say you had two businesses that you were interested in buying and each business was basically the same as the other, apart from one key factor.
The first business had a strong brand that was really well known in their market. It had a real connection on social media and was very well known in either the local area or in its industry, or both.
The second business has a database of a few hundred clients, no real brand and was not well known.
My question for you is – how much less would the second business be worth?
There is no right or wrong answer to this, however, I hope there is a realisation that the second business would be worth far less because it had not developed its brand.
