In these times of difficulties, lots of people may lose their jobs.  Others have been looking for work for several months and others are in need of short-term income.  This being the case we thought about how we can help.

Over the past 10 years, we have become experts in using LinkedIn to grow a business and in the past 3 years we have run many workshops on – ‘How to Use LinkedIn to Get a Job?’  Obviously we don’t want people to get together in a room to attend a workshop and so we have produced our workshop ‘How to Use LinkedIn to Get a Job’ into an online training programme.

How to use LinkedIn to get a job – A 6-week online training course

The course runs for 1 hour per week of online training, so you learn from your home, office, or mobile.  It lasts for 6 weeks and covers 6 modules, as follows:

Module 1 – Strategy and Assessment

The first module is all about understanding where you are now.  How many contacts do you have?  What does your profile say about you?  Who is your target market?  What groups are you in?  What are you doing right now on LinkedIn?

This then helps you define what you want and what you’ve got to do to get what you want.

Module 2 – Looking Good

We all know that when trying to create a good first impression it is essential to have an immediate impact with your profile.  In module 1 we are going to help you to produce an outstanding profile.  In other words, one that stands out from your competition.

Module 3 – Crowd Development

This module covers growing your database or your list of contacts and groups on LinkedIn.  In this module, you will learn how to find and connect to the right people to give you a job, or recommend you to someone who can!

Module 4 – Know me, like me, trust me

Without a doubt, one of the keys to getting a job is getting people to know, like and trust you.  Asking a recruitment agency to send out your CV to prospective employers may be one option, but it is far more likely that you are going to get an interview if the person responsible for selection knows, likes and trusts you.  So in this section, we are going to discuss how to build relationships with your LinkedIn contacts.

Module 5 – The paid-for services on LinkedIn

Getting your name in front of your target market is a great way of winning business and LinkedIn offers several ways for job seekers to get their name, details, and CV in front of HR Managers, Directors, Business Owners and potential employers on a pay per click, or pay per view basis.  In this module, you are going to learn how to do this and how to allocate a small budget to test the options you have.

Module 6 – Turning all this into a Job

No one is saying this is going to be easy in the present and future economic climate.  Let’s face it, things are tough.  But that is why you need to think differently in order to get a job.  In the sixth and last module, we are going to discuss how to be different!
